Launcher Decryption Error

If you are experiencing the following error when trying to open the launcher:

"The launcher had trouble decrypting data from the login server or login server was in the middle of sychronizing character data. Please retry after a few minutes to allow character synchronization to complete. If this error persists, please contact customer support at https://support.istaria.com for help." 
 

There are two possible problems:

1)  You have an older version of the launcher that is incompatible with the current version of java.  You can fix this by downloading the launcher upgrade from here: https://community.istaria.com/pg.php/download  It will look like Istaria is reinstalling but it's just updating you to the latest version of the launcher and a few other key files.

2) If it is not an outdated launcher it is likely due to having an old version of Java on your computer.  You can update your Java install by visiting www.java.com and clicking the red Free Java Download button at the center of the screen.
 

If there's a problem updating, you may need to manually remove Java from your computer. Please visit the following page for the force uninstall tool.

Also make sure you only have one version of Java installed, if the older version is still installed you will need to uninstall it through add/remove programs.
