Invalid argument: connect

When the launcher starts up, it may report "Invalid argument: connect"

This error occurs because the launcher can not access the internet.

If you have not checked your firewall to allow Istaria access to the internet, please see the following knowledge base article.

On some Windows installations, the network driver may install IPv6 before IPv4, and report the connection active when it is inactive. Disabling IPv6 will not resolve this issue, as the problem is the driver not correctly reporting status. You can instruct the launcher to only use the IPv4 connection by setting a system variable.

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Click Environment variables.
4. Under System variable, click New:
4.1. The name should be: JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS
4.2. The value should be: -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
